High Point
High Point community is a 34-block, mixed-income HUD HOPE VI neighborhood redevelopment in West Seattle.
The project created a national model for affordable and sustainable mixed income housing. Utilizing low impact development strategies, the extensive natural drainage system acted as the guiding design principle through out the development. Margarett Harrison was involved with the project for over five years beginning with the master plan and completing construction administration for Viewpoint and Stormwater Parks. In addition, Margarett designed the landscape for numerous affordable and market rate housing blocks; each block containing a small pocket park, pedestrian connections, and neighborhood gathering areas.
